ITV The Chase's Mark Labbett addresses 'blunder' as Scouse player makes lucky guess

Mark Labbett said "that was a blunder by me" as he answered a question wrong on The Chase. As part of the new run of episodes, The Chaser went up against four fresh contestants on the ITV quiz programme. Judy from Liverpool impressed The Beast during her time on the show. At the start of the episode, a player named Alex was first up to take on The Chaser, who in this case was Mark Labbett aka The Beast. He gave a great performance in the Cash Builder round, earning £7,000. But his time on the quiz show came to an unfortunate end when he failed to outrun The Beast. Karen was next up and hoped to make a better impression on the quiz show. However, she followed in Alex's unfortunate footsteps. She soon heard Bradley Walsh's dreaded words : "You have been caught and for you, the chase is over." Judy, who described herself as a "Nigerian Scouser", was next to test her luck against The Beast. The contestant said she wanted to travel the world, and said it was on her "bucket list" to visit all seven continents of the world. She took part in the Cash Builder round, accumulating £2,000. When it came to the head-to-head, Judy told Bradley Walsh she was going to take the lower offer. She said: "I hate to be that person but I'm going to take the £1,000." During the second round, Mark Labbett made a "blunder" as he answered a question incorrectly. Bradley Walsh asked: "The Japanese film 'Shichinin no Samurai' was remade as which Western?" The options were "The Outlaw Josey Wales", "The Wild Bunch" or "The Magnificent Seven". Judy selected "The Magnificent Seven". Making a lucky guess, she said: "It's the only one I've really heard of so I thought let's go for that one." It turned out to be the correct answer, but The Chaser went wrong as he selected "The Wild Bunch". Mark Labbett said: "That was a blunder by me." Bradley Walsh aimed to put The Chaser to the test in an extra challenge as he asked: "Can you name the Magnificent Seven?" The Beast successfully named all six, but failed to remember the seventh actor. Returning to his presenting duties, Brad congratulated Judy who had secured a position in the final chase. But in the end, her score of six wasn't strong enough to beat The Chaser. J udy told Bradley Walsh: "They were hard questions", as the ITV quiz host reassured the quizzer. He said: "Well look mate, not just that, it's tough on your own." Mark Labbett caught Judy with one minute and 24 seconds remaining. The Chaser said: "It really wasn't your day. You actually started really well you were on six after 40 seconds. "But then unfortunately the concentration went or you got a couple of hard questions. You could see your head go down and you've got no one to pick you up in that situation." The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1 and ITVX
