The star, best known for his character, Adam Chance, in the soap opera Crossroad, died with his wife by his side in Brighton. Richard said: "Some rather sad news to wake up to this morning. "Actor Tony Adams has passed away. Best known, of course, for his role, Adam Chance, in the soap opera Crossroads. "He starred in an extraordinary 4,500 episodes from 1978 to 1988. Now, Tony returned to the role in 2001, you may remember, when the show was brought back and he had a cameo in 2023's ITV series Nolly - the three-part drama based on fellow Crossroads actress Noele Gordon, played by Helen Bonham Carter." And our sympathies are with his family. How evocative is that theme tune for those of us who grew up with it." He began by making a name for himself on the stage, before gaining notoriety as Dr Neville Bywater in the 1970s soap General Hospital. Tony also starred in one Doctor Who episode, The Green Death, before taking to Crossroads as accountant, Adam Chance, WalesOnline reported.
