ITV Fletcher's Family Farm's Liz Fletcher says 'something is missing' before new arrival

In the upcoming episode of ITV's Fletcher's Family Farm, Kelvin and Liz Fletcher are set to welcome a new addition to their Cheshire farm. The programme follows the former Emmerdale actor and his family as they navigate the highs and lows of running their own farm. This week, not only do Kelvin and Liz discover that one of their cows is pregnant, but they also introduce a cockerel to their brood. Liz explained to their daughter, "Well, you know, we've got the four hens, but we've never had a cockerel, have we? And if we have a cockerel, when the hens lay their eggs, then they would be fertilised into chicks." Mother and daughter visited a farm where breeder Emily assisted them in selecting the perfect cockerel for their property, reports the Mirror . "When I bring the cockerel home to the hens, how will they work out their relationship? Will he just instantly know how to be the boss of them?" Liz queried. Emily replied, "Yeah, they'll just chat amongst themselves about 'Who's this new guy and what are his intentions?' Yeah, so I guess they might go through a bit of a dating phase." After deciding on their new cockerel, Liz reflected on their choice, saying, "Today's been amazing. We wanted that traditional cockerel look. You know, he looks like he's got something about him, and it feels like it's something that the farm was missing. "I think Kelvin...you know, two alphas looking at each other. He might square up to the cockerel and be like, 'Who's the boss of this farm?' And he'll know it's the cockerel." She went on to say, "This is the next teeny little bit of expansion at the farm, just the next little addition that's exciting, fun. "He's very good-looking. He's a handsome chap." In a different segment of the episode, the Fletchers were thrilled to find out that one of their cows was expecting. However, the joy was short-lived when the vet delivered the sad news that their other cow had suffered a miscarriage and was infected.
