An Emmerdale actor has seemingly confirmed their departure from the soap following a mysterious remark. Joe Absolom, who made his first appearance earlier this year as villain Ray Waters , quickly stirred up trouble in the well-known village. As fans will recall, he ensnared young characters April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) in a perilous world of crime, child exploitation and narcotics. Initially, it was only Dylan who was working for the dangerous dealer Ray. However, before long, April was drawn into the shady business and began doing jobs for Ray after he decided she could be of use. Adding to the drama, it was shockingly revealed that not only was Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) running the entire operation, but she was also Ray's adoptive mother. The despicable duo have since been making life miserable for April and Dylan. In recent episodes, April accidentally killed a man named Callum (Max Lohan), who had paid Ray and Celia for a night with the young girl. In a desperate struggle for survival, April panicked and hit Callum over the head with a vodka bottle, reports the Daily Star . However, it seems that the reign of terror by villain Ray in the village might soon be over, as actor Joe recently gave away a 'hint'. On Wednesday (November 5), Joe appeared on ITV's Lorraine to chat about all things Emmerdale. The conversation naturally veered towards the subject of acting. Reflecting on his career, Joe shared: "I sort of drift between employment and unemployment. But I'm good at being unemployed so it's ok." He also let slip that one of his children is keen to follow in his acting footsteps. Joe confessed: "Part of me wants them to have a proper job, like have a Christmas party, have fun things to do." Then, seemingly confirming his current role at Emmerdale, Joe quipped: "As a self-unemployed actor it's very boring!". The former EastEnders star then opened up about the uncertainty that comes with an acting career. He revealed: "Whenever you get to the end of the job, you think you'll never work again. "And then you get another job and you think 'great' and you relax for a little bit, then as that job finishes and you go 'I'm never going to work again' and it's sort of like a weird cycle I'm in." Emmerdale chose not to comment. Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
