ITV Big Brother hosts have confessed to “crying” as they made an “overwhelming” confession ahead of the brand new series.
Big Brother is set to make a comeback this weekend as it returns to ITV2 on September 28 at 9pm for its 25th year. Hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu will once again take the helm as a group of strangers head into the iconic Big Brother house where they will live together for several weeks.
ITV previously shared a cryptic trailer as they admitted the “game is changing”, causing anticipation to build amongst fans. But just what exactly is to come remains unknown to fans, who are having to wait until Sunday to find out.
Ahead of the new season, Will and AJ have spoken out about all things Big Brother. Speaking about when the show launched on ITV back in 2023, AJ confessed to “crying”.
She added: “I do remember the first series when Will and I were just about to present the launch and we were holding hands and crying at each other in the back of a taxi. It was so moving and overwhelming.
“A real dream for both of us and to be continuing to live that dream all these series later with so much public support is amazing. We don’t stop pinching ourselves.”
Will admitted: “It’s gone incredibly fast. I can’t remember life before it.”
When asked what they are most looking forward to this season, as Big Brother celebrates its 25th anniversary, AJ said: “I am looking forward to obviously meeting all the new housemates and looking forward to an extra week together! It’s so exciting, it’s like the lead up to Christmas.”
This series is set to be seven days longer than the previous two seasons in a huge shake up as the show celebrates its 25th anniversary. Fans can also catch Big Brother: Late and Live each evening following the main show as well as the Big Brother live stream.
Viewers can look forward to one familiar face as celebrity Danny Beard, who came runner up in the Celebrity Big Brother 2025, has confirmed his return.
Speaking exclusively to Reach during the National Diversity Awards in Liverpool on September 19, he confirmed he would be back for Big Brother’s Late and Live for “the first full week”.
Earlier this month, ITV viewers issued the same demand ahead of the new season as they called for the in-house Big Brother voice to change, stating rotating voices would bring back more suspense. One Reddit fan wrote: “Big Brother producers need to bring back the multiple voices.”
With more twists and drama to come, ITV has teased the return: “Viewers can expect more new twists and turns, elaborate tasks, intense nominations and live evictions as the cast of Housemates go up against one another in a bid to be crowned the winner, and walk away with a life-changing cash prize.”
