ITTN Chats to New Aer Lingus Direct Service Destinations – Indy & North Carolina

ITTN’s Shane Cullen interviews Morgan Snyder (Visit Indy) and Scott Peacock (Visit North Carolina) at Brand USA Travel Week UK & Ireland as new destinations offering direct services to Dublin Airport with Aer Lingus. Aer Lingus has further expanded its Transatlantic offering with the launch of a direct service to Indianapolis in May 2025 and the planned direct service from Dublin to Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina. These routes bring the total number of routes Aer Lingus operate to North America to twenty-six. The continued growth of the airline’s North American network is part of its Dublin Hub strategy, providing a central gateway between North America, Ireland, the UK and Europe. Visit Indy’s Morgan Snyder | Senior Director of Public Relations & Film Indy ITTN’s Shane Cullen interviewed Morgan Snyder (Senior Director of Public Relations & Film Indy – Visit Indy). Aer Lingus launched the inaugural Dublin – Indianapolis direct service in May of this year. Morgan shared that the significant demand means this service will increase frequency from four times weekly to five times weekly from April 2026. Indianapolis, Indiana, has so much to offer the Irish traveller. Check out the interview with Morgan on Facebook or Instagram. There is the Indy 500 – the largest single-day sporting event in the world, which happens every May. Also boasting the largest in the world, Indy is home to the largest children’s museum in the world and so much more. Morgan highlights that Indy has a booming art & culture scene with a brand new contemporary arts museum. Indy is also on the doorstep of riverways and trailways, so travellers can enjoy the Great Outdoors. Downtown is home to White River State Park with a cluster of museums, attractions, and green space that is only a step from hotels. The scenic Central Canal runs through the park and connects with the renowned Indianapolis Cultural Trail, which spans ten miles and can carry visitors to the city’s neighbourhoods, including Mass Ave, Fountain Square, and Indiana Avenue. Indy has more monuments and memorials than any U.S. city outside of Washington, DC. From arts and live music to sports and shopping, travellers will discover that Indy has more to offer than they ever imagined. Scott Peacock | Director of Tourism Marketing & Communications – Visit North Carolina ITTN’s Shane Cullen chatted to Scott Peacock (Director of Tourism Marketing & Communications – Visit North Carolina). Aer Lingus recently announced a further expansion of its long-haul network with the introduction of a new direct service from Dublin to Raleigh-Durham International Airport, North Carolina, from April 2026. Check out the interview on Facebook or Instagram. The service will connect the cities of Raleigh and Durham directly to Ireland for the first time and serve the wider State of North Carolina, with a population of over 11 million, with greater links to Ireland. The year-round route will operate up to five times weekly on Aer Lingus’ new Airbus A321 XLR aircraft. Scott shares that North Carolina is known for its natural beauty and has “some of the highest elevation mountains east of the Mississippi River, some of the most beautiful, protected, undeveloped islands, and sea, and coast you’ll see on the East Coast. And we have heart-warming people, small towns and charm along the way.”. Scott also highlighted that North Carolina is an amazing destination for golf, “For all you golfers, you have got to take a look at North Carolina…”. In fact, the new direct service to Raleigh is less than an hour from Pinehurst. For those of you who don’t know, Pinehurst has hosted the US Open on several occasions – 1999, 2005, 2014, 2024. Scott wrapped up emphasising North Carolina can’t wait to welcome visitors to North Carolina, Gateway to the South and Gateway to the East Coast.
