Gaza, November 10 (QNA) - The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) handed over the bodies of 15 slain Palestinian captives on Monday, as part of the prisoner exchange deal with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). Sources at the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the bodies of 15 Palestinian martyrs arrived at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), bringing the total of bodies of murdered Palestinian handed over by the Israeli occupation to 315 bodies. Official reports from the Ministry of Health and forensic medicine in Gaza stated that most of the bodies handed over by the IOF showed signs of torture, burning, and execution. Most of those martyrs were bounded and blindfolded, and their features were disfigured due to the severity of the occupation's torture, preventing families from identifying most of them, the statement pointed out, adding that some of the bodies were buried in a mass grave. The handover of the bodies of the Palestinian martyrs comes as part of the prisoner exchange deal that took place between Hamas and the Israeli occupation, within the ceasefire agreement and the end of the Israeli war on Gaza. In the first phase of the agreement, Hamas released 20 living Israeli prisoners and handed over the bodies of deceased individuals, while the occupation authorities released 250 Palestinian prisoners serving long and life sentences, as well as 1,718 prisoners from the Gaza Strip who were arrested after Oct. 7, 2023.
