Gaza, November 03 (QNA) - The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced Monday that it has received 45 bodies of Palestinians that had been released by the Israeli occupation.In a statement, the ministry said this was done through the International Committee of the Red Cross, bringing the total number of recovered bodies to 270, of which only 78 have been identified, as part of a prisoner swap deal between the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Israeli occupation.The ministry's personnel are persistently dealing with the bodies based on medical procedures and approved protocols ahead of finalizing the examination, documentation, and ultimately handing them over to families, the statement read.The exchange of bodies is part of the prisoner and hostage swap deal within the ceasefire agreement and termination of war in Gaza, with Hamas releasing 20 live Israelis under the first phase of the deal, while the Israeli occupation released 250 prisoners serving long and life sentences, along with 1,700 prisoners from the Gaza Strip who were detained after Oct. 7, 2023.
