Israeli Forces Eliminate Hezbollah Militant In Lebanon, Claim He Was Rebuilding Terror Network

Israel on Monday said its attacks have killed two Hezbollah terrorists including Muhammad Ali Hadid, a commander in Hezbollah’s “Radwan Force” in southern Lebanon. In a posy on X, the Israeli Defense Forces said: “ELIMINATED: Muhammad Ali Hadid, a commander in Hezbollah’s “Radwan Force,” in the Nabatieh area, southern Lebanon. Hadid advanced numerous terror attacks against Israel and recently worked to reestablish Hezbollah terror infrastructure.” “Additionally, an IDF strike in Ayta ash Shab eliminated another Hezbollah terrorist who was attempting to gather intelligence on IDF troops,” it said. The Radwan Force is considered to be Hezbollah’s most elite unit. It is tasked with special operations. “The terrorists’ activities constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the IDF stated. The Jerusalem Post quoted Lebanese reports as stating that all four terrorists were inside a vehicle at the time of the strike. Earlier, Israel had warned of increasing its attacks against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, a day after the Lebanon health ministry reported four deaths due to an Israeli airstrike. According to The Guardian, Israel has maintained troops in five areas in southern Lebanon and kept up regular strikes despite the November 2024 ceasefire. As per the US-brokered deal in November, Lebanon agreed that only state security forces would be allowed to bear arms, which means a complete disarmament of Hezbollah. Last year, Hezbollah was severely affected due to the war with Israel, which killed thousands of its fighters and group’s longtime chief Hassan Nasrallah. It also killed more than 1,100 women and children dead and devastated large parts of southern and eastern Lebanon. Since then, Hezbollah has publicly been committed to the ceasefire, refraining from attacks on Israel.
