PTC Web Desk: The fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is once again in trouble. On Wednesday, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza killed at least 104 persons, according to local health officials. The strikes happened after an Israeli soldier was killed in a Palestinian attack near the border.Israel said the airstrikes were a response to a “clear violation” of the truce. “We will keep the ceasefire but respond to any attack,” the Israeli military said. Hamas denied breaking the ceasefire, saying it remains committed to peace. The truce, made earlier this month with US help, required Hamas to release hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. But tensions grew after Israel accused Hamas of faking the recovery of Israeli remains handed over to the Red Cross.US President Donald Trump said the ceasefire was still in place and supported Israel’s response. The Red Cross called the fake recovery claim “unacceptable” and said such actions damage trust between both sides.Meanwhile, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has banned Red Cross visits to prisoners accused of terrorism in Israel.
