Isla Fisher 'not ready' to date as she shifts focus onto career after Sacha Baron Cohen split

Isla Fisher is keeping herself busy with work following her divorce from ex-husband Sacha Baran Cohen after 14 years of marriage. The pair announced their divorce in April last year, with it being finalised just two months later in June. The actress, 49, recently admitted she’s “not ready” to date again and is, instead, throwing herself into her film career with back to back films ready to be released. In recent years, she’s made sporadic appearances in films. However, after her split was publicised, she went on to star in romantic comedy film, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy. She has four films which will either be released this year or next, marking it the busiest time of her career since 2016. On her roster are heist film Now You See Me Now: Now You Don’t, coming-of-age drama Jay Kelly and action comedy film Playdate alongside actor Kevin James. She was also spotted filming another comedy called Spa Weekend in Australia with Leslie Mann and Anna Faris. The Wedding Crashers star revealed earlier this year that dating again following her split is the last thing on her mind. She told The Sunday Times : “That's not on my to-do list. I'm not ready to think about any of that.” Meanwhile, Sacha, 53, was spotted with 27-year-old model Hannah Palmer earlier this week after meeting her at film director Taika Waititi’s 50th birthday party in Ibiza last month. The two were seen leaving a restaurant together after having dinner, making separate exits but getting into the same Cadillac Escalade limo. However, despite rumours of the pair being on a date, a source has told Mirror that it isn’t what it seemed. They told the publication: “Someone seems to have been making mischief and trying put two and two together to make five. “They have met a couple of times and have mutual friends and got on - and Sacha has given her some advice regarding Hollywood and acting. “But this was not a date. They were both going to the same event so they went to dinner beforehand. And once at the event, they went their separate ways.” Isla and Sacha first met at a party in Sydney back in 2001 before getting engaged in 2014 and tying the knot in March 2010 with a Jewish ceremony in Paris. She converted to his religion of Judaism and took the Hebrew name of Ayala, the Hebrew word for a doe and described herself as keeping the Jewish Sabbath. The former couple share three children together but have largely kept them out of the public eye over the years. The two shared a joint statement after their divorce was finalised in June last year and vowed to remain friends. They said: “Our divorce has now been finalised. “We are proud of all we've achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children." The statement continued: "We ask for the media to continue to respect our children's privacy." At the time of them announcing their divorce, the couple released a prior joint statement that read: "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. " She went on to say: "In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change."
