Fans are sending “so much love and healing energy” to The Pitt star Isa Briones after she spent part of Halloween undergoing emergency surgery. The actress took to Instagram on Tuesday, Nov. 4, with the unfortunate update, sharing a glimpse at some of her more fun holiday festivities before revealing that, somewhere in the spooky season, she’d found herself admitted to the hospital. A series of photos showed off her costume and parties with her friends, among others, before a trio of photos dedicated to her unexpected hospital stay wrapped up the carousel, which she captioned, “hospitals and halloween.” The first snapshot found her lying in her hospital bed, covered in blankets, with a pulse-ox monitor on her index finger and a medication pump hooked up to her IV. The next photo showed off a stuffed appendix with a sticker that read, “My Appendix R.I.P.,” featuring an illustration of the organ with a halo and angel wings. Finally, she included a photo of an illustration from the children’s book series Madeline, specifically the page where the young redhead shows her classmates her surgery scar after undergoing her own appendectomy. Friends and Fans Bid Her Appendix Adieu While Sending Wishes for a Speedy Recovery “Bye bye appendix! Get well soon, Queen!” one commenter wrote, while another said, “Oh man, hope your [sic] recovering ok.” “oh no! not the appendix 🙁 hope you’re feeling better ❤️,” another well-wisher replied, with someone else agreeing, “Hope you’re feeling okay my friend🧡.” “sending u so much love and healing energy! 🫶,” another manifested. “rip appendix, good luck soldier 🫡,” someone else saluted her, before another joked, “girl get up! you’re not supposed to be IN the bed!! 😭.” “the madeleine reference is so niche I love it sm,” one gushed, while another exclaimed, “Madeline elite reference!!” “oh madeline ref i see you,” another replied. Briones Took the Opportunity to Call for Action on Health Insurance Issues The actress also took the time to shout out her care team, taking to her Instagram Stories to thank them “for taking such good care of me when I came in.” “Thank you to ALL healthcare workers who are for our communities every day with little thanks and little funding. ‘Heroes’ doesn’t begin to cover it,” she added. In a second slide, she addressed disparities in access to healthcare, continuing, “I am part of a privileged percentage that has comprehensive insurance and the ability to afford emergency procedures but so many out there cannot especially with the changes being made by this administration.” She added, in part, “These changes that affect people’s access to healthcare directly negatively impacts emergency departments and public health centers/systems that are meant to help the most vulnerable of our communities. While more funding goes to tearing families apart and deporting thousands of people who have lived and served in their communities their whole lives,” while condemning Donald Trump’s administration and ICE. The Cast and Crew Are Currently Filming Season 2 of ‘The Pitt’ Production for Season 2 of the smash HBO Max hit is well underway, having begun in June. It’s unclear how Briones’ recovery may impact the schedule, but there’s plenty of time to work with, as the series isn’t expected to return to streaming until Jan. 8, 2026. An official wrap date isn’t confirmed, so it seems like filming is ongoing.
