Reba McEntire has had a remarkable career in country music, television and film, so at 70 years old with an impending marriage to longtime boyfriend Rex Linn, it would not be odd if she decided to stop and smell the roses. Maybe take a break from it all and just enjoy life. The idea of retirement is something she addressed in a new cover story for People Magazine. And there’s good news for fans of Reba because she doesn’t plan to retire anytime soon. Bad news, though, is that she told the outlet that she is thinking about “slowing down” some. And, she revealed, that a conversation with another country music legend — Dolly Parton — impacted her view on how to handle it all. “I don’t know when,” she said. “It could be in 20 years. I’ll know when it’s the time. Dolly and I talked about that an awful lot when she did the Reba show, and I said, ‘Are you going to retire?’” Reba appreciated Dolly’s response. “She said, ‘Why would I?’” McEntire said. “What in the world could I do and have as much fun as what I’m doing in this job right now?’ “I agree with her a hundred percent,” McEntire continued. “Slow down, maybe, but no plans of retiring.” McEntire has certainly done well for herself in her career. According to Celebrity Net Worth, McEntire has an estimated net worth of $95 million. The outlet notes that she has sold more than 90 million records around the globe, including 16 #1 albums. If that number — 16 — sounds incredible, it is because it is more #1 albums than any other woman has put out in their career. All of her money has not been accumulated through her singing, though. Celebrity Net Worth noted that she crossed over into acting by appearing in 1990’s “Tremors.” She has multiple business ventures, and currently a successful show of her own — ‘Happy’s Place’ — as well.
