Ja Morant will not suit up for the Memphis Grizzlies in their interconference regular-season game against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Morant will be sidelined owing to a one-game suspension slapped by the Grizzlies organization after his controversial statement to reporters on Friday. The former Murray standout lashed out at the coaching staff following the team's 117-112 loss in an NBA Cup clash against the LA Lakers. Morant lost his cool when asked about what Memphis could have done differently to change the outcome of the game. He bluntly shared his true feelings, which clearly proved that there was some tension between him and coach Tuomas Iisalo."According to them, probably don't play me, honestly,” Morant said. "That's basically what the message was. It's cool."The Grizzlies deemed Ja Morant's conduct as "detrimental to the team" and suspended him for one game. The athletic point guard will serve his suspension when the Grizzlies play against the Raptors.Morant delivered a horrendous performance on the court before his outburst in front of the media. He ended the game with just eight points, his lowest scoring game since December last year. The Grizzlies' poster boy shot a pathetic 3 of 14 from the floor, including 0 of 6 from deep. This season, Ja Morant has struggled immensely. His 3-point shooting and at-rim finishing have declined steeply. The 6-foot-2 point guard has converted just five of his 32 attempts from deep, while 28% at the rim.How to watch Memphis Grizzlies vs. Toronto Raptors? The Memphis Grizzlies vs. Toronto Raptors game will take place on Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario.
