A showjumping athlete is under investigation regarding a possible anti-doping violation, Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) has confirmed. The National Governing Body for Equestrian Sport in Ireland says they have been notified of ‘an alleged human clean sport violation’ regarding a showjumping athlete . HSI added that the matter is being managed by the International Testing Agency (ITA) and that both the athlete and themselves have been engaging fully since the issue was brought to their attention. In a statement to RTE, Horse Sport Ireland said: “Horse Sport Ireland (HSI), has been notified of an alleged human clean sport violation concerning an Irish showjumping athlete. “This matter is being managed by the International Testing Agency (ITA) on behalf of the FEI, the International Federation for Equestrian Sports. “Both the athlete and Horse Sport Ireland have been engaging fully since the issue was brought to their attention. As the case is ongoing, HSI will not be making any further comment on the specific details. “HSI remains committed to upholding the values of clean sport and ensuring fair play across all disciplines.”
