Cupertino, October 26: Apple and Elon Musk's SpaceX are reportedly in talks about a Starlink collaboration ahead of the iPhone 18 series launch next year. The partnership is expected to involve the iPhone 18 Pro having satellite internet connectivity, which would help the devices function in areas with poor network coverage, according to reports. This could benefit users who experience network outages when there are no cell towers nearby. Elon Musk previously spoke about Starlink's plans to make "direct-to-cell" connectivity available to all users. Apple launched its iPhone 17 series in September 2025 and is expected to introduce the next series in a year. However, ahead of the launch, several new developments have been discussed and rumoured within the tech community. Reports suggest that Starlink would allow iPhones to gain connectivity even in network dead zones. Musk and Apple have not seen eye to eye in the past, but this collaboration could be different. SpaceX's Starlink internet services are currently available in more than 100 countries, and including them on the iPhone could bring advantages to both Apple and its iPhone users. The report said that Apple's iPhones could work without Starlink internet; however, the company would need to partner with T-Mobile in the United States for access. It noted that Apple has never signed a deal with SpaceX to provide comprehensive support for its models.
