iPhone 18 Pro Max Leaks Hint At Big Upgrades Over Apple iPhone 17 Pro Models: All You Need To Know

Apple recently launched the iPhone 17 series globally, including the new iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. But as always, leaks about next year’s iPhones have already started surfacing online. If you are thinking about skipping the iPhone 17 Pro models, the early rumours suggest that the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could bring some major upgrades. iPhone 18 Pro Max vs iPhone 17 Pro Max According to a MacRumors, one of the biggest changes could be under-display Face ID. Earlier, display analyst Ross Young had said that iPhone 17 Pro models might feature this technology. But this feature has been pushed to 2026. This means Apple could finally add under-screen Face ID with the iPhone 18 Pro series, giving the phones a cleaner look and a smaller Dynamic Island. Reports from The Information earlier this year also backed this claim, suggesting that the Cupertino-based tech giant is preparing to introduce the tech with the iPhone 18 Pro models. Variable Aperture Camera Coming To iPhone 18 Pro Models As per the report, popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo hinted that the iPhone 18 Pro models are also expected to feature a 48MP main camera with variable aperture,. This would allow users to control the amount of light entering the camera lens, something that could improve photos in different lighting conditions. Currently, iPhone Pro models (from iPhone 14 Pro to iPhone 17 Pro) use a fixed f/1.78 aperture. With a variable aperture, iPhone 18 Pro users could manually adjust depth of field, making portrait shots and low-light photos more versatile. Under the hood, Apple is expected to equip the iPhone 18 Pro lineup with a 2nm A20 Pro chipset, built on TSMC’s advanced process. This could bring a major boost in both performance and power efficiency compared to the A19 Pro in the iPhone 17 Pro models. Along with that, the phones may also feature Apple’s in-house C2 modem, which should deliver faster and more stable 5G connectivity while being more power efficient.
