Investigation into child sex abuse material leads to CT man's arrest

A Coventry man was arrested last week after authorities searched his home during an investigation that began when the state police Computer Crimes Unit found that someone downloaded more than 500 files of suspected child porn. Alex Radomski, 40, was arrested Friday on charges of promoting a minor in an obscene performance and second-degree possession of child sexual abuse material, according to the Coventry Police Department. He posted a $200,000 bond and is set to appear before a judge on Oct. 29 in Superior Court in Rockville. According to police, the investigation began when Connecticut State Police discovered that more than 560 files of suspected child porn were downloaded over the Internet. The IP address associated with the downloads was found to stem from a home in Coventry, police said. According to police, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children found that 379 of the files contained children previously identified by law enforcement as victims. Investigators obtained a warrant to search Radomski’s home, which was carried out by Coventry police with assistance from the Computer Crimes Unit. Several electronic items were seized and examined by the state Forensic Science Laboratory and Computer Crimes detectives, police said. Authorities found 40 files containing child sexual abuse material, police allege. Radomski was charged after investigators obtained a warrant for his arrest.
