Nearly 11 years after a devastating crash left him with a traumatic brain injury and a long list of physical challenges, Jim Lowden is defying the odds and inspiring others along the way. The 71-year-old East Lansing resident is a familiar face at the Hope Network’s Neuro Rehabilitation Facility in East Lansing. Though he moves slowly, he’s known for his quick wit, especially when it comes to music trivia. Lowden calls himself “the luckiest man alive.” His journey of recovery began after a violent accident on U.S. 127 near Ithaca. “Eight weeks of my life are gone. I don’t remember anything at all,” Lowden said.
