In India, one of the most beautiful traditions during festivals is when children seek blessings from their elders by touching their feet. In return, elders place their hands on the child’s head and offer words of blessings or sometimes a small gift of money. But now, a new video shows a funny and modern twist to this age-old custom that has everyone talking online. The video shows how children are adding a dash of technology to this heartfelt ritual, and it is both hilarious and clever. Instead of receiving blessings the usual way, one young girl took things a step further, quite literally going digital. Kids Add a Tech Twist to Tradition The clip opens with a little girl dressed in a traditional outfit, going from one room to another to touch the feet of her elders. But what catches everyone’s attention is the large QR code stuck to her kurta at the back. As she bends down to take blessings, the elders take out their phones and scan the QR code, giving “Ashirwad” in the most modern way possible. At one point, a man tells her, “Wait, wait beti, I’ll give you your blessings,” as the people around her burst into laughter. Another elder gives his blessings in the old-fashioned way, without using the code, only for the kids nearby to shout, “Arre uncle!” The man quickly takes out his phone and joins in on the fun.
