The 2025 NFL trade deadline is rapidly approaching. ESPN’s Rich Cimini revealed which New York Jets are most likely to be moved before Tuesday, November 4, at 4 pm. The most likely Jets to be moved, according to Cimini, are linebacker Quincy Williams, defensive end Micheal Clemons, and wide receiver Allen Lazard. “Lesser possibilities: DE Jermaine Johnson, RB Breece Hall, DE Will McDonald, [and] DT Quinnen Williams,” Cimini added. Williams is a former first-team All-Pro who could garner significant interest and perhaps a consequential return. The appearance of Clemons and Lazard on the list inspires less confidence that the Jets can get a sizable return, if any at all. Both players have failed to be significant contributors on a Jets team that is among the worst in football. Insider Reveals Trade Price That Will Get Some of These Deals Done Cimini said a potential trade for Johnson or Hall is less likely but not impossible. NFL Insider Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated revealed on X previously Twitter what it would take to get those trades done ahead of the deadline. “I’d say it’d take a third-rounder to get Breece Hall from the Jets, and a second-rounder to get Jermaine Johnson,” Breer said. Some Tough Decisions for the Jets’ Front Office Is a second-rounder and a third-rounder a premium pick? Absolutely. Any draft pick inside the first three rounds is considered a premium pick. The expectations for players taken that high are that they will transform into either primary starters or, at the very least, strong contributors. The Jets could use more of those on the roster. However, what the front office has to weigh is what they have versus what those picks could be. Draft picks are a mystery. Sometimes they can work out, and sometimes they can flame out. The Jets have experienced the latter for the majority of the last 15 years. That coincides with their active 14-year playoff drought, which isn’t a coincidence. For better or for worse, you know what Johnson and Hall are as players. Johnson is a team leader, he is stout against the run, and has shown upside as a pass rusher. Hall is a dynamic talent who is on pace for his best year as a pro. The Jets aren’t going to the playoffs after their 1-7 start to the season. However, there is more football beyond 2025. Johnson is under contract through 2026. Hall is an expiring free agent, but the Jets can prevent him from hitting the open market if they slap the franchise tag on him. According to Over The Cap, that would be a costly endeavor, with the running back tag projected to be $14.14 million in 2026. Jets Could Look to Buy at the Deadline, if the Price Is Right Cimini revealed that the Jets are exploring the trade market on both offense and defense. Specifically, they are looking for safety and offensive line help. The catch is that those players at any of those positions have to be signed through “at least” 2026, “that could be part of the future”, Cimini said.
