Christine Flack, mother of the late Caroline Flack , has shed light on the events leading up to her daughter's tragic death. In December 2019, the then 40-year-old presenter was involved in a heated late-night dispute with her boyfriend Lewis Burton, which resulted in her arrest and subsequent charge for assault. Initially, she received a caution for the incident, but this was later overturned following an appeal by the Met Police. On February 14, 2020, she was informed that the case would proceed to trial the next month. Tragically, Caroline was found dead at her Stoke Newington home in London the very next day. A coroner later determined her death as suicide, caused by an "exacerbation and fluctuation" of ill health and distress. The recently released Disney+ documentary, Caroline Flack: Search For the Truth, provides insight into the star's final moments before her untimely death. The two-part docu-series reveals that the presenter had sent various messages and voice notes to her loved ones. In one of these heartbreaking messages, Caroline can be heard saying: "I'm just really going all over the place, my head doesn't know what to think at any point." Another text from the Love Island host reads: "I feel the lowest I've ever felt, I don't see any way out of this." In addition to sending these distressing messages, Caroline spent her last hours frantically trying to find her boyfriend Lewis, despite a court order prohibiting her from contacting him. Friends had grown increasingly concerned about the presenter's wellbeing in the weeks leading up to Caroline taking her own life, after she had harmed herself with a piece of glass following a police visit, saying she wanted everything "to be over". Mollie Grosberg revealed that the evening before Caroline was due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court earlier that month, she had received a distressing phone call. Mollie recalls in the documentary series: "She called a couple of people slurring, and I knew then, something was going on. "So a couple of us went over, and she was just completely out of it on the bed." Mollie described this as highly unusual behaviour for her friend, stating: " We were just freaking out because the next day was the hearing, but also, I was thinking she's going to die." Speaking to The Guardian about her decision to participate in the revealing documentary, Caroline's mother Christine said: "Certain things will be picked up and stories might come out, including ones that aren't true. "But I'd been trying for four years to understand what happened and I still had so many questions. I'd come to a brick wall so I went ahead. "And whatever happens next, I always say that no one can do anything worse to me now. Nothing worse can happen than Caroline dying."
