Footage has been captured of a frightening fight which broke out on the front lawn of a suburban Sydney home following an earlier argument at a shopping centre.

The occupant of the house, Courtney Kilgannon, was at home and was stunned to find the complete strangers brawling with hammers and baseball bats when she looked outside.

‘There was a man injured here next to my car, they damaged the front of my house and smashed up my car,’ she told 9 News.

One of the teenagers was surrounded and tried to retreat inside the house but the mother held the door closed.

‘I’m screaming at him like, sorry bud, I can’t open the door.’

The innocent mother has now been left with a hefty cleanup bill as one of the men involved remains in a serious condition in hospital.

NSW Police confirmed six people have been charged after the armed brawl on Oberon Road in Ruse, in the city’s southwest, on Saturday evening.

Officers arrived at the scene about 5.40pm following reports a large group of people allegedly armed with hammers, baseball bats, metal poles, shovels and a hatchet were involved in a brawl outside a home.
