Influencer Tang Feiji Dies in Aircraft Crash During Livestream

Content creator Tang Feiji has died after crashing his aircraft during a livestream. He was 55.
Multiple media outlets reported that Feiji was filming on Saturday, September 27, while operating an aircraft and allegedly lost control. In the livestream, Feiji can be seen taking off and flying before crashing to the ground as the vehicle erupted into flames.
Chinese news website Cover News reported that hundreds of people were watching the livestream at the time of Feiji’s incident. According to the outlet, authorities shared that the crash did not cause any damages to the local area.
Multiple outlets reported that Feiji’s account has changed to private following his death. He had about 100,000 followers on the Chinese social media platform, Douyin.
In videos shared prior to his death, the creator allegedly said he paid 350,000 Chinese Yuan — about $49,000 — for the aircraft. State-run news agency China News Service (CNS) reported that the vehicle had a single seat and weighed over 250 pounds.
CNS alleged that Feiji said the aircraft could reach an altitude of around 2,000 feet and travel over 60 miles per hour. After six hours of practice, Feiji claimed that he could properly manage the controls of the vehicle, according to the outlet.
Feiji previously suffered issues with the vehicle. Cover News reported that Feiji’s vehicle dropped less than 30 feet after suffering a fuel gauge malfunction twice in 2024.
News of Feiji’s death broke amid reports that influencer Paola Caldera died at age 30 after a battle with leukemia. Her death was confirmed by her family in a TikTok.
“Today we bid farewell to a being who illuminated our lives with his strength, his love and her wisdom, even in the most difficult moments,” Caldera’s family shared earlier this month.
The post continued, “Leukemia may have contained her physical presence, but never the mark she left on our hearts. We are left with his example of courage, her infinite goodness and the memories that will always accompany us. Rest in peace, such a caldera your light will continue to shine in each of us.”
Caldera began documenting her life as a mom of two via social media, amassing more than 100,000 followers on TikTok since 2023. (Her sons were ages 8 and 3 at the time of her death.)
The next year, Caldera shared via Instagram that she was “recently diagnosed” with Acute Lymphoid Leukemia — which is defined by the Mayo Clinic as a rapidly progressing cancer that targets the blood and bone marrow and produces immature or non-functional blood cells.
At the time, Caldera asked her followers and “anyone with a good heart” to donate to her GoFundMe to assist with her payment of medical bills.
“I am asking for your help in this fight that we will emerge victorious,” Caldera wrote at the time. “Every grain of sand, every donation will make a huge difference so my family can do what’s needed and focus on what’s most important, my recovery to soon be home healthy again.”
