A man walking near a boat ramp on Marshall Road heard the cries of an infant yesterday morning, police said. When Acharro Gaitor searched the area sometime around 9 a.m. he found an infant boy, with his umbilical cord around the neck, wrapped in a blue and white blanket. “... I was on my way ... back from where I came, and then the rain came down,” Gaitor told ZNS News yesterday. “When the rain came is when I heard the baby was in there crying, and I looked inside the bush [and] I saw the baby kind of humped over a bit. “The umbilical cord was still attached.” When he heard the infant cry, Gaitor said he started praying. “My payer was that the child will live and represent the kingdom of God,” he said. “That was my first thing to do. “While I was doing that, I was also calling the relevant authorities.” Police said EMS and police arrived at the scene and examined the infant and reported that he was in good health. The infant was then taken to hospital.
