Integrated supply chain infrastructure services platform IndoSpace is planning to invest over $57 million or Rs 500 crore in a logistics park spread over 66 acres with 1.7 million sq ft space in Bhiwandi near Mumbai, adding capacity in one of India’s largest warehousing hubs.The investment is part of IndoSpace’s broader commitment to Maharashtra, where it has already deployed nearly $330 million or nearly Rs 3,000 crore in logistics and industrial infrastructure.The park will be developed with a mix of ready-to-move-in facilities and build-to-suit (BTS) options to meet requirements across sectors.”As the country experiences shifts in consumption, manufacturing, and global trade linkages, the availability of reliable logistics infrastructure becomes critical. Our approach is centred on building facilities that combine operational efficiency with long-term sustainability, aligning with the broader imperatives of India’s economic growth,” said Anshuman Singh, MD & CEO, IndoSpace.The new facility is expected to strengthen the Mumbai Metropolitan Region’s role as a key consumption and manufacturing corridor while supporting employment generation in nearby areas.Live EventsBhiwandi continues to serve as a warehousing hub in western India due to its connectivity with Mumbai, Thane and Pune, and its access to the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway. IndoSpace’s project there has a development potential of more than 1.7 million sq ft and will be positioned for occupiers from e-commerce, third-party logistics, FMCG, automotive and electronics.The park will be developed with facilities aligned to ESG standards and certifications, including green spaces and infrastructure designed for efficiency and compliance.The planned investment comes at a time of rising demand for logistics space. In the first half of 2025, leasing volumes across India reached 32.1 million sq ft, an increase of 42% year-on-year, showed industry data.Mumbai accounted for 7.5 million sq ft, marking 63% year-on-year growth.
