TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police officially requested a Red Notice for Muhammad Riza Chalid, a corruption suspect in the management of crude oil. The request was made to Interpol Headquarters after the Office of the Attorney General (AGO) completed the Interpol Red Notice (IRN) dossier submission.”All requirements for submitting the IRN were fulfilled by the AGO last week,” said National Central Bureau (NCB) Secretary of the Indonesian National Police Brigadier General Untung Widyatmoko when confirmed on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.Untung stated that the issuance of the IRN is awaiting a review by the Interpol Headquarters in Lyon, France. The dossier from the Indonesian National Police Interpol, he said, would be reviewed by the Commission for the Control of Interpol’s Files (CCF) and the Interpol’s Notices and Diffusions Task Force (NDTF) in Lyon. Once the IRN is issued, Riza Chalid will be a wanted person in all Interpol member countries.”We have taken various steps to search for the subject in question,” Untung said.Riza Chalid has been on the wanted list since August 19, 2025. The Attorney General’s Office is pursuing him to investigate his alleged involvement in the corruption of crude oil and refinery product management at Pertamina. Riza has also been declared a suspect in money laundering cases.The AGO has also seized several cars allegedly owned by Riza Chalid, but registered under other people’s names. These include a white BMW 528, a Toyota Rush, two Mitsubishi Pajero Sports, a Toyota Alphard, a Mini Cooper, and three Mercedes sedans. Investigators confiscated these cars from individuals affiliated with Riza Chalid, including Irawan Prakoso.Riza is the only suspect who has not been detained, as he is still abroad. His last known location was in Malaysia. Tempo obtained a photo of Riza Chalid with Puro Handoko, a representative of Gemcorp Capital, at a renowned hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
