Indonesia Launches UAE-Backed Cardiology Hospital in Solo City

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Emirates-Indonesia Cardiology Hospital will soon commence operations in Solo, Central Java. Construction concluded, the handover process of the hospital, which is a grant from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government for Indonesia, took place at the Solo Technopark area on Monday, September 29, 2025.The hospital development received a grant of Rp417.3 billion, or approximately US$25 million. Solo Mayor, Respati Ardi, said the handover ceremony involved the UAE government to the Indonesian Ministry of Health.”We hope for the Cardiology Hospital to start operating soon and serve the people in Greater Solo,” said Respati when met by reporters in Solo on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.Respati mentioned that about 100 medical staff are employed at the Emirates-Indonesia Cardiology Hospital. The Solo government also backs the operation by deploying two doctors and five nurses in the hospital.”The Solo City Government contributes two doctors and five nurses. Despite their small number compared to the total number of medical staff there, I hope that the Ministry of Health will handle this earnestly,” he expressed.Handover of Emirates-Indonesia Cardiology HospitalThe handover ceremony was marked by the signing of a deed by the UAE Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulla Salem Obaid Aldhaheri, as the grantor, and Azhar Jaya, the Director General of Advanced Health Services at the Ministry of Health, as the grant recipient.The grant includes the construction of the hospital building and the procurement of modern international standard medical equipment, making Emirates-Indonesia Cardiology Hospital one of the most comprehensive cardiology facilities in the Southeast Asia region.”The Cardiology Hospital is expected to not only be an international-scale cardiology referral center but also a symbol of the advancing quality of health services for the people of Solo and its surrounding areas,” he stated.Respati said the Solo City Government is ready to collaborate with the Ministry of Health, Dr. Sardjito Hospital, and all strategic partners to support the hospital operations. The assistance includes providing supporting infrastructure, transportation access, and facilitating integration with primary healthcare services at the village level.Hospital FacilitiesEmirates-Indonesia Cardiology Hospital is built on land owned by the Solo City Government in the Solo Technopark area. It offers various capacities, including emergency services, outpatient care, VIP and President Suite inpatient care, ICU, Cathlab, and cardiovascular research center.Operational support for the hospital includes state-of-the-art medical equipment such as a Hybrid Cathlab, CT Scan, and MRI.
