TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), Meutya Hafid, mentioned that the national platform, Garuda Spark Innovation Hub, has the potential to give birth to two million new tech entrepreneurs. The government projects this platform as a hub for collaboration, incubation, and the development of digital startups, aiming to foster further advancement.According to Meutya, the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub can enhance collaboration between digital activists and stakeholders in the industrial world to work together. "The spirit of this program is from spark to impact. From sparks to impact," Meutya said in her written statement on Thursday, October 23, 2025.Meutya mentioned that a similar platform is not only a space for collaboration but also a platform for hatching ideas to grow and have a real impact on Indonesian society. "Startups meet with investors, and innovation brings real value," she said.Komdigi targets the initial development points of the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub in four locations, namely Bandung, Jakarta, Aceh, and Medan. The target is to create new job opportunities and increase the competitiveness of the local economy, particularly in strategic sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and the creative industry.Garuda Spark Innovation Hub is also integrated with the Hub.ID Connection Hub and Startup Indonesia Dashboard. Meutya mentioned that this integration will strengthen the national digital ecosystem, connecting startups, investors, and global corporations through an integrated database.Aside from focusing on startup development, Meutya stated that Komdigi is currently running the Digital Government Clinic initiative to assist ministries, institutions, and local governments in providing smarter and more efficient digital public services. She said that this step helps digital innovation to grow in every core of public service, not just in the private sector."Innovation should not stop at startups, but should also thrive within the bureaucracy.
