Indiana's Curt Cignetti Shares Devastating Injury News for Hoosiers

Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers are playing like a true national championship contender so far this season. They put the college football world on notice a couple of weeks ago when they went on the road and pulled off a win over the Oregon Ducks. After this past week's win over the Michigan State Spartans, the Hoosiers now hold a 7-0 record. Not only is Indiana undefeated, the program is now ranked as the No. 2 overall team in the country behind just the Ohio State Buckeyes. Looking at the remaining schedule, there is a very good chance that the Hoosiers will finish off the regular season undefeated and head on to face Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game. As shared by Jeff Rabjohns of Peegs.com, Cignetti has announced that Indiana might have lost standout defensive tackle Kellan Wyatt for the rest of the season due to a knee injury. “I’m not sure if we’ll see him the rest of the season," Cignetti said. Wyatt was playing in his first season with the Hoosiers after playing his first three years for the Maryland Terrapins. He had made a major impact on the Indiana defense and will be badly missed if he is forced to miss the remainder of the season. Throughout the 2025 campaign thus far, Wyatt has recorded 28 total tackles to go along with 2.5 sacks. Despite the injury, the Hoosiers are brimming with confidence. Cignetti has completely rebuild the culture. Indiana feels that it can play with any team in the nation. They gave him a massive eight-year, $93 million contract extension. Clearly, the program did not want to risk other teams trying to convince the new star head coach to leave Bloomington. Hopefully, Indiana will be able to overcome this devastating defensive injury news. Wyatt has been a big part of the team's success, but Cignetti is sure to make sure that his team is ready to continue forward without him.
