Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh): A 24-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district allegedly died by suicide in Saudi Arabia while on a video call with his newly married wife, police said on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as Aas Mohammad Ansari, was living in Riyadh, where he reportedly hanged himself from the ceiling of his residence on October 26 following a heated argument with his wife, Sania, 21, during the call. After witnessing the incident, Sania alerted relatives living in Saudi Arabia, who rushed to Ansari’s residence and found him dead, family members said. Ansari and Sania had married earlier this year on April 7 in Bhopa village of Muzaffarnagar. He had moved to Saudi Arabia around two-and-a-half months ago for work. A relative, Amjad Ali, said efforts are underway to bring the body back to India for burial. The Indian Embassy in Riyadh has been informed, and documentation is being arranged to repatriate the remains, officials confirmed. Police said they are investigating the details of the incident, including the reason behind the couple’s argument. If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, help is available.
