Twelve years after Indian Idol Junior, Sugandha Date is now one of the top 16 contestants on Indian Idol 16. Judged by Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani and Badshah, the show airs every weekend on Sony Entertainment Television. After the show's premiere, Sugandha exclusively interacted with Zoom/ Telly Talk. In conversation with us, the contestant reminisced about receiving a 'lifelong blessing' from the late legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. Sugandha Date recalls Lata Mangeshkar's compliment In an exclusive interview with us, Sugandha said, "I always wanted to meet Lata ji once and to stand in front of her. But that didn't happen. I would like to mention this... when I was in Indian Idol Junior in 2013, she had written a tweet. She used to follow Indian Idol Junior back then." The Indian Idol 16 contestant further recalled, "She had written (few things) in the tweet - one was the name of the contestants, and the other was my name. (She wrote) 'Sugandha Date, who is 8 years old, sings very well. Sabko mera pyaar aur aashirwaad'. So I think I got a lifelong blessing. Pyaar unka hai mere saath. So that is a big thing for me." The contestant mentioned that her audition for Indian Idol 16 is her latest memorable performance. "Because I was 8 years old when I went to the junior. And after participating in Season 16, I sang in front of Shreya ma'am, Badshah sir and Vishal sir. I met Shreya ma'am and Vishal sir after so many years. So it was definitely extremely special to me. And they remembered that I went to Indian Idol Junior when I was 8 years old." As for Indian Idol 16, the singing reality airs every weekend at 8 pm.
