Indian Govt Issues Serious Warning For Zoom Windows And Android Users

Zoom users have got a major security risk warning from the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team or CERT-In with a high severity rating which is a big concern. Zoom continues to be popular among consumers and businesses for video meetings and other activities supported by the platform, so any security risk will pose issues for people using it for their businesses and personal use.
Zoom Security Risk: What You Should Know
The latest security risk alert from CERT-In in September says, “multiple vulnerabilities exist in Zoom products due to race conditions, improper enforcement of actions, incorrect authorisation checks, insufficient sanitisation of user-supplied data, boundary errors, argument injection, and missing authorisation mechanisms.”
Any person or an organisation using Zoom can become a victim because of the given risks that can be exploited to hack your system and steal data. It comes with a high-severity rating which makes you notice the concerns right away.
The security risk has been mentioned for Zoom on a wide range of platforms, which includes Windows, macOS, Android and the iOS app as well. Here’s the list of the Zoom version that is affected by the issue:

Zoom Workplace VDI Plugin macOS Universal installer for VMware Horizon before version 6.4.10 (or before 6.2.15 /6.3.12 in respective tracks)
Zoom Workplace Desktop for Windows before version 6.5.0
Zoom Workplace VDI Client for Windows before versions 6.3.14 and 6.4.12
Zoom Rooms Controller for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android before version 6.5.0
Zoom Rooms Client for Windows, macOS, Android, iPad, before version 6.5.0
Zoom Meeting SDK for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android before version 6.5.0
Zoom Workplace for Windows on ARM before version 6.5.0

The biggest issue with Zoom security risk is that hackers can easily exploit the issues and gain access to sensitive data which can be a nightmare for companies.
The versions mentioned here need to be quickly fixed using the latest security bulletin from Zoom with its update issued for the respective platforms. We suggest you to open Zoom on your desktop/mac or mobile device and click on the available software update for the platform right away.
