Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian women’s cricket team will host Alyssa Healy’s Australia cricket team in the second ODI of the three-match series on Wednesday (September 17). The visiting team chased down the target of 282 in the series opener with ease and enter the second ODI as favourites. A win here will see them clinch the series while a defeat for them will make the third ODI a must-win for both teams. Smriti Mandhana (58) and Pratika Rawal (64) provided a solid start to India and added 114 runs for the first wicket. Harleen Deol smashed 54 off 57 balls as India finished at 281/7 in 50 overs. Phoebe Litchfield smashed a brilliant 88 off 80 balls. Beth Mooney (77 off 74) and Annabel Sutherland (54 off 51) remained unbeaten and put on a match-winning partnership 116 runs for the third wicket as Australia chased down the target in only 44.1 overs. Australia will aim to win the second ODI and clinch the series early. Both teams will take part in the warm-up matches before the start of the ODI World Cup.
