New Delhi, Sep 18 (KNN) Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 18–19 to co-chair the 13th meeting of the India-UAE High Level Joint Task Force on Investments (HLJTFI) with Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).
The Task Force will review progress on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the Double Taxation Treaty, and central bank cooperation between the two countries.
Discussions are also expected to cover investment opportunities in sectors such as maritime and space, which both sides see as high-potential areas for growth.
During the visit, Goyal will co-chair a roundtable of the UAE-India Business Council with Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, and hold interactions with chief executives from leading Indian and Emirati companies.
He is also scheduled to meet H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, UAE and Chairman, International Holding Company (IHC), along with other senior officials and business leaders.
The UAE remains one of India’s key strategic partners, with ties spanning trade, energy, defence, technology, and food security.
The CEPA, which came into effect in May 2022, has nearly doubled bilateral trade, rising from USD 43.3 billion in FY 2020–21 to USD 83.7 billion in FY 2023–24, while boosting growth in non-oil sectors.
