ISLAMABAD – Recent claims made by an Indian publication suggesting that Pakistan had sent 20,000 troops to Gaza have been declared baseless and false. Sources stated that the intelligence leaks and other assertions included in the report were fabricated and misleading. Officials further clarified that neither the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has ever confirmed or announced any military mission in Gaza. The sources added that Pakistan continues to maintain a clear and principled stance in support of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also emphasized that Pakistan has never recognized Israel and has not engaged in any discussions regarding military deployments. Earlier, an Israeli newspaper has reported that Pakistan may send a military contingent to join an international force being deployed in Gaza, aimed at establishing stability after deadly conflict, which took the lives of over 68,000 people. A report shared by Times of Israel said Israeli defense officials briefed lawmakers that the force could include troops from Pakistan, Indonesia, and Azerbaijan. Jakarta has already formally offered to send its forces, while Azerbaijan has also indicated its willingness to participate. The report cautions that Islamabad’s involvement has not yet been officially confirmed, and no public announcement has been made regarding the country’s potential role. The revelation comes amid global attention on Gaza, where tensions remain high prolonged conflict. The international force is being positioned as a crucial step toward stabilizing the region, and possible inclusion of Pakistani troops could mark a significant development in international military cooperation in the Middle East. Islamabad has consistently condemned Israeli military operations in Gaza, calling them as violations of international law, and advocated for Palestinian sovereignty. The South Asian naiton also pushed hard for ceasefire, though it has distanced itself from aspects of US-proposed peace plans.
