India ended their maiden campaign at the Pickleball World Cup 2025 in Florida on a remarkable high, clinching an impressive 24 medals, including 8 gold, 7 silver, and 8 bronze. The stellar performance marked India’s most successful outing on the global pickleball stage, as the team finished seventh overall, while hosts USA lifted the team title. Competing for the first time at the marquee event under the patronage of the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), the National Sports Federation for the sport, Indian players delivered standout performances across age and skill categories. A total of eight Indian players struck gold, showcasing the country’s growing strength and depth in the sport. Among the top performers, Vijay Chabbria won gold in the 35+ Men’s Singles (3.5) category, while Nitten Kirrtane claimed top honours in the 50+ Men’s Singles (5.0). Nilesh Desai captured gold in 50+ Men’s Singles (4.5), and Dev Shah triumphed in the Under-34 Men’s Singles (5.0). The mixed doubles pair of Amrita Mukherjee and Suraj Desai also struck gold in the Age 34 and Under (5.0) category. India’s medal tally was further bolstered by standout performances from Rakshikha Ravi, Sindoor Mittal, Dhiren Patel, Deepali Agarwal, Veer Shah, Anushka Chhabria, Kiaan Contractor, Aayra Khanna, Aariv Raj Khanna, and Mihika Yadav, who all made the podium in their respective events. Amrita also won a silver medal in Women's Singles (4.5 DUPR) Category. Among the youngsters, Anushka Chhabria was the most successful athlete, winning four medals. She was also part of India's Junior World Cup-winning team. With this memorable performance, India have firmly announced their arrival on the world pickleball map, signaling a bright and competitive future for the sport back home.
