Union Minister Piyush Goyal announced that India and the European Union have made substantial progress in their Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations, with 10 out of 20 chapters closed and several others nearing convergence. Speaking after the Berlin Global Dialogue, Goyal said the talks are moving towards a fair, equitable and balanced deal that recognises mutual sensitivities and strengthens trade, investment, and technology ties. He also emphasised India’s growing global stature under PM Modi, calling the country a voice of the Global South and a hub of youth, innovation, and sustainable growth.
