Immortal Universe producer Mark Johnson has revealed how many more spinoffs are in development for the franchise based on Anne Rice's novels. The TV universe based on The Vampire Chronicles and Mayfair Witches books has been on AMC since 2022. Its most recent installments include Interview with the Vampire season 2 in 2024 and Mayfair Witches season 2 in 2025. Both of the franchise's ongoing shows have been renewed as well, with Interview with the Vampire season 3 confirmed for a 2026 release. A new spinoff with a fully original story, Talamasca: The Secret Order, is set to premiere with two episodes on Sunday, October 26. But this appears to be just the start for the budding franchise. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly ahead of Talamasca: The Secret Order's release, Johnson, who overseas production of the entire Immortal Universe, explained he has plans for more spinoffs in the Anne Rice franchise. Praising the author's original work, the producer revealed there are "three or four other titles [and] subjects" that he's already pitching to AMC: You bet there is a list. There's so many good ideas. She is an extraordinary writer, and that much more extraordinary when you realize when she was writing — it's really so far ahead of her time. So far, all three shows existing within the Immortal Universe cover core aspects of Rice's work. Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches are directly based on her novels, while the upcoming Talamasca: The Secret Order tells an original story about the series' connective organization. For now, it's unclear what other shows could arrive and their connections to existing ones. However, there are some installments planned for the Immortal Universe that haven't been released yet, albeit smaller than full-scale TV series. In April 2023, it was confirmed a short-form series, Night Island, was in development, pulling ideas from Rice's The Queen of the Damned. In September 2025, it was reported an adaptation of Memnoch the Devil is also in development. Given the number of supernatural characters and entities that appear in Rice's work, there are plenty of paths the franchise could go moving forward. This includes a possible crossover series after Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches season 3, the two having intermingled in the novels. More original series like Talamasca could also crop up depending on its performance.
