The much-awaited trailer of Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda, has finally released, and it has already started receiving praise from everyone. Akshay Kumar also praised the trailer and shared a sweet note for his niece Simar Bhatia, who is making her Bollywood debut with the film. Amitabh Bachchan also wrote an emotional note for his grandchild. Taking to his Instagram stories, Akshay Kumar shared the trailer and wrote, “My little Simi’s not so little anymore… from your living room performances to the big screen in #Ikkis, heart bursting with pride! @simarbhatia18 And Agastya, what screen presence! Take a look here: Ikkis Trailer The trailer offers a glimpse into the life of one of the greatest patriots and the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. In the trailer, Agastya steps into the role of the heroic soldier who is all set to go to war at the young age of 21 and doesn’t fear even death. The trailer opens with Agastya announcing that he will earn the next Param Vir Chakra for his regiment. It then cuts to him declaring that the soldiers of his regiment will train for an extra two hours every day. While briefly touching upon his romantic life, the trailer also gives a peek into the deadly war. Veteran actor Dharmendra portrays Arun’s grandfather, who often shares tales of bravery from his past, with a young Arun listening in awe. Jaideep Ahlawat features as a Pakistani army officer who tells Dharmendra that Arun Khetarpal’s heroism is admired not just in India but also across the border. The film is directed by National Award–winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan. About The Film Ikkis is directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. It tells the real-life story of Arun Khetarpal. Speaking to PTI, Raghavan shared that the film will stay true to reality and won’t dramatise Khetarpal’s story in a superhero-like way. “It’s not a comic-book hero version,” he said. The film skips over his early years and focuses on his time as a young soldier who gave his life for the country just after turning 21. He further revealed, “It is a bigger production; there will be tank battles and all those things that happen in a war film. But it is also a human story; it’s a drama, a coming-of-age kind of a thing.” Akshay Kumar Teams Up With Anees Bazmee For A Family Comedy? According to the report, he is all set to collaborate once again with filmmaker Anees Bazmee. The duo’s next venture will be a fresh family comedy-drama. Times Now has quoted a source close to the development saying, “Akshay Kumar is spearheading Anees Bazmee’s immediate next film, which is not a double-role comedy but a fresh family comedy-drama.” Reportedly, the film is currently in pre-production and the makers is likely to take to start shoot in February 2026. The other details are kept under wraps. Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee have previously worked together on films such as Welcome (2007), Singh Is Kinng (2008) and Thank You (2011).
