IIT Madras’ Department of Management Studies (DoMS) has opened applications for its Executive MBA (EMBA) program, designed for mid-career professionals who want to take on leadership roles in modern businesses.
The two-year, in-person program is structured for working professionals, with classes held on alternate weekends so participants can continue their jobs while learning. The curriculum focuses on giving students both functional knowledge and a broader perspective on managing complex businesses.
Practical learning is emphasised through three field capstone projects, allowing students to apply classroom lessons to real-world business challenges.
The program aims to equip students with deep knowledge across industries, an integrated approach to business decisions, and the skills needed to lead and contribute to global businesses.
Eligibility and Selection
Candidates with a minimum of 60% in their Bachelor’s degree, along with at least three years of work experience, can apply. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to the IIT Madras campus on 8th and 9th November 2025 for a written aptitude test and personal interview.
The test will cover Business Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, and Verbal Ability. Results will be announced in December, and the program is scheduled to start in January 2026.

Why This EMBA is Unique?
Prof. Saji K Mathew, Head of DoMS, IIT Madras, highlighted the program’s unique advantages: “This EMBA combines the technological strength of IIT Madras with in-person weekend classes for working professionals. It’s designed with global business in mind, including an international immersion program. Last year, students visited IESEG School of Management in Paris.”
Dr. S. Srinivasan, Associate Professor and EMBA Coordinator, added, “Our program helps professionals immediately apply the tools they learn. We focus on interdisciplinary knowledge and a case-study-driven approach, using real-world examples from Ivy League and Harvard Business School. Students get a simulated business environment to practice decision-making.”

International Immersion Programme
A recent addition to the curriculum is the International Immersion Learning Program. Students spend 10 days at a prestigious institution abroad, such as IESEG School of Management in Paris, to develop global leadership and cultural intelligence. They combine classroom sessions with field visits across Northern France and Belgium, including Lille and Brussels.
