The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has once again extended the last date for July 2025 session admission. Earlier, the deadline was Monday (September 30, 2025), which has now been extended to October 15, 2025. This extension is eligible for most of Open Distance Learning (ODL) and online courses. Candidates who are interested and eligible for the online and ODL programmes of IGNOU can apply for the courses at the official IGNOU website, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. “JULY 2025 Admission Cycle: Last date for submission of Application (except for Certificate and Semester-based Programmes) extended up to 15 October 2025,” IGNOU posted in an tweet on the varsity’s ‘X’ (earlier known as Twitter). This marks the second extension for the July 2025 admissions cycle. The original deadline was earlier in the year but was extended to September 30 following requests from students. The university has advised applicants to create their DEB ID before beginning the application process to avoid last-minute issues. For ODL (Open and Distance Learning) admissions, candidates can apply via the portal ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. A DEB ID (Distance Education Bureau Identification) is mandatory for submitting applications. Additionally, the online programs portal ignouiop.samarth.edu.in reminds applicants to ensure they have access to a computer or laptop and a stable internet connection, as no printed study materials are provided. The portal also recommends the ODL mode for students who are uncomfortable with a fully online learning format.
