The Igbo King in Ghana, Eze Jude Chuckwudi Ihenetu, has addressed the embarrassment he faced at Manhyia Palace after Otumfuo’s kyeame stopped him from greeting the monarch.
The controversial self-styled king grabbed headlines in Ghana on Wednesday, September 17, when he visited Manhyia Palace to attend the funeral of the Asantehemaa.
In a viral video, he was seen walking towards the Asantehene to greet him and pay his respects on the loss of his sister.
Eze Igbo arrived before Otumfuo’s linguist (kyeame), who was directing affairs, and was told to take off his cap before greeting the King.
After he did so, the Igbo King exchanged nods with the Asantehene, but was instantly asked to move away by the linguist, who did not allow him to shake the Asante monarch as other people had done.
The video of the interaction stirred drama on social media, with many Ghanaians expressing happiness over the treatment received by the Igbo King.
In recent months, the Nigerian has stirred controversy following reports that he planned to establish a kingdom in Ghana.

Igbo King addresses Otumfuo controversy
In a new update seen by YEN.com.gh on the Instagram page of Eze Jude Ihenetu, he appeared to address the embarrassing incident.
He said that life is full of challenges and that overcoming obstacles is how you achieve victory.
“The marathon of life will tire you, it will challenge you, but it will also shape you. The real victory is not in rushing, but in finishing strong. So, run your race at your own pace, keep your eyes on your lane, and never forget that endurance builds strength,” he said.
