Idli Kadai FIRST Review: Dhanush Shines In ‘Beautiful’ Family Film, But Story And Screenplay Falter

Idli Kadai First Review: Dhanush’s much-awaited fourth film as a director, Idli Kadai, has finally been released in theatres. The film is special as Dhanush has not only directed it but also written, acted and co-produced it under his own banner, Wunderbar Films, in partnership with Dawn Pictures. Fans who attended the early shows shared their reactions on X (Formerly Twitter). While many viewers praised the movie as a sweet family entertainer due to its emotional moments, some felt the story and screenplay were not as strong as expected.
Most viewers enjoyed the first half, which they found to be both fun and emotional, especially the scenes featuring Sivanesan’s idli shop. Dhanush is also getting appreciated for his direction and the way he brings out emotions in every scene. His on-screen chemistry with Nithya Menen is also getting praise from fans. GV Prakash’s music has also been receiving praise for adding energy and emotion to the film.

“Family drama unfolds at a slow pace, with heavy sentiments, especially in the Dhanush–Rajkiran scenes. Dhanush–Nithya Menon chemistry is engaging as always. Sathyaraj, Arun Vijay and Shalini’s characters fail to make a strong impact on the audience. As usual, Dhanush’s acting is good, but director Dhanush, Boring screenplay,” a comment read.
