A staple of the Jersey Shore’s dining and entertainment scene for over five decades is up for grabs for nearly $7 million, complete with the restaurant’s iconic lobster emblem. The Oar House Pub in Sea Isle City is for sale with a $6,999,999 price tag, according to a listing by Long & Foster. The sale price includes the purchase of the business, the building, specified contents and the liquor license, according to the listing. The buyer also gets the giant lobster emblem that adorns the front of the building. Located on the bay at 42nd Street, the establishment began in 1970 as The Lobster Loft, according to the statement. The building that houses the Oar House dates back to 1910 in the Fish Alley neighborhood. It was used as a warehouse for the commercial fishing industry before becoming a restaurant. The property features waterfront views and an expansive layout with multiple entertainment spaces. The main floor houses three bars, including two full dining areas with capacity for 200 guests and a stage that has hosted musicians for more than 50 years. The front bar accommodates 25 patrons with additional table seating nearby. Upstairs, a second-floor bar can entertain 100 guests. The outdoor “Alley Bar” provides additional live entertainment space for 40 guests. The venue even offers boat slips, allowing customers to arrive directly via the bay. The property is zoned commercial and residential, so the development of residential units with commercial space is another option.
