Engineer Raphaël Hosty, Minister of Public Works, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, began a monitoring tour of major airport infrastructure projects this week.
Alongside Yves Ducarmel François, Director General of the National Airport Authority (AAN), and Réginald Guignard, Director General of the National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC), Minister Hosty began his tour with an inspection of the recently extended runway at Antoine Simon des Cayes International Airport and the ongoing development work at the airport terminal. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-44417-haiti-economy-inauguration-of-the-renovated-international-airport-of-les-cayes-video.html
They visited the area designated to house the temporary control tower announced by the Minister, an essential facility to strengthen civil aviation safety and improve the management of air operations pending the construction of a permanent tower financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
Progress plans for the expansion of Antoine Simon of Les Cayes International Airport, aimed at better welcoming and serving passengers, were presented. Also examined.
