According to data from the Dominican General Directorate of Customs (DGA), exports to Haiti reached US$876.9 million between January and September 2025, exceeding by more than US$211 million the US$665.2 million exported during the same period in 2024. Despite the crisis Haiti is experiencing, economic activity is continuing in various sectors, particularly outside the capital, Port-au-Prince, where criminal gangs are more prevalent, hampering its healthy development. Despite this, Haitians generate resources to meet the demand for locally manufactured products, including food and various household items such as personal hygiene products, construction materials, etc. During the first nine months of this year, Haitian exports almost equaled the total exports for 2024 (US$899.5 million).
