Eight teams – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa – will feature in the 2025 edition of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, which is set to be played from September 30 to November 2 across four venues in India and one in Sri Lanka. Co-hosts India and Sri Lanka will face each other in the tournament’s opener on Tuesday, September 30, at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, and world No. 1 ODI team Australia will open their campaign on October 1 at Holkar Stadium in Indore against Trans-Tasman rivals and 2024 T20 World Cup winners New Zealand.
Four-time champions and world No. 2 ODI team England, meanwhile, will face South Africa in their first league match on October 3 in Guwahati.
The Pakistan women’s cricket team, which is ranked 8th in the world, will not travel to India due to the tense political relations between the two countries and instead will play all their matches at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The iconic stadium in the capital city of Sri Lanka will host the high-voltage match between India and Pakistan on October 5 and the contest between India and Australia is scheduled to take place at Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on October 12.
The second semifinal of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 will be played at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on October 30 and the venue of the first-semifinal on October 29 and final on November 2 will be decided after Pakistan’s final league position.
If Women in Green fail to qualify for the semifinals, then Navi Mumbai’s Dr DY Patil Sports Academy will host the summit clash, and if Pakistan feature in the final, then the title decider will be played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Team India will play their seven league matches in five different venues, whereas five of Sri Lanka’s seven league matches are scheduled to take place at R. Premadasa Stadium.
