ICC Women's World Cup Prize Money- How much will India earn if they win?

Harmanpreet Kaur’s side is set to take on South Africa Women in the ICC World Cup 2025 final at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, November 2. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly considering a massive reward of ₹125 crore if it clinches the Women’s World Cup title. India suffered three consecutive defeats, including a narrow loss to the same South Africa side, before they bounced back. They defeated New Zealand to secure a berth in the semi-final. They received a major boost after a win over defending champions Australia, where Jemimah Rodrigues scored a century. ICC Lifts Women's World Cup Purse to USD 13.88 Million India will be appearing in their third Women's World Cup final, while South Africa will be playing in the title clash for the very first time. The champions will receive the largest prize purse in Cricket World Cup history, across both Men’s and Women's World Cups. Earlier in September, the ICC announced a massive revision to the prize structure, raising the total purse for the Women's World Cup to USD 13.88 million (approximately ₹123 crore). This is a 297% jump from the previous edition and even surpasses the USD 10 million awarded at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The winners of the 2025 tournament will take home USD 4.48 million, compared to the USD 1.32 million Australia received three years ago. The runners-up will earn USD 2.24 million, more than triple the amount England got in 2022. Meanwhile, both losing semi-finalists will collect USD 1.12 million. BCCI Considering ₹125 Crore Reward if India Win the Women's World Cup Final The BCCI is reportedly considering a ₹125 crore reward for Harmanpreet Kaur’s team if India win the Women's World Cup final against South Africa. The prize money would mirror the amount presented to Rohit Sharma’s side after their T20 World Cup triumph in 2024. According to PTI, senior BCCI officials are discussing the move as part of the board’s commitment to its ‘equal pay for men and women’ approach. However, the Indian cricket board has not made any official statement on the prize money. "The BCCI supports equal pay for men and women, and hence, there are a lot of discussions that if our girls win the World Cup, the reward won't be anything less compared to men's global triumph. But it isn't nice to announce before they win the Cup," a BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity. India Reach Women's World Cup Final Eight Years After Heartbreaking 2017 Loss India reached the World Cup final eight years after their heartbreaking nine-run loss to England at Lord’s in 2017. Each player from that squad received ₹50 lakh, and the support staff were also rewarded. Harmanpreet Kaur's team will face South Africa in the high-pressure final at the DY Patil Stadium on November 2. With the nation eagerly watching, the Women in Blue will be hoping to secure their first-ever Women’s World Cup title. Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet, Smriti Mandhana, and Renuka Singh have been in fine form. If India wins the title, players could earn prize money nearly ten times what they received in 2017.
