IAG Signs ‘The Morning Show’ Emmy Nominee Karen Pittman

EXCLUSIVE: Karen Pittman, the Emmy, Critics Choice and SAG Award-nominated actress known for roles on Apple’s The Morning Show and Netflix’s Forever, has signed with Independent Artist Group.
Pittman last year earned her first Emmy nomination for her role of Mia Jordan in The Morning Show, a behind-the-scenes drama centered on the high-stakes world of morning news, where she stars alongside Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, and more. Her character, Mia, is a producer at UBA’s The Morning Show, around which the series revolves. The show returned for its fourth season yesterday and has already been renewed for a fifth.
In Netflix’s Forever, inspired by the Judy Blume novel and written by Mara Brock Akil, Pittman plays the loving, humorous and ferociously protective matriarch, Dawn.
In addition to those two current roles, Pittman’s list of TV credits includes Max’s And Just Like That…, FX’s The Americans, Marvel’s Luke Cage, and Paramount+’s Yellowstone. In 2022, she launched Hallmark’s Mahogany programming with the film Unthinkably Good Things. Other feature credits include Detroit, Custody, The Rewrite, Begin Again, and What We Do Next.
Pittman has originated well-known American theater roles including Jory in Ayad Akhtar’s Pulitzer Prize-winning, Tony-nominated Broadway play Disgraced, Nya Joseph in Pipeline written by Dominique Morrisseau, and Charlotte in Claudia Rankine’s The White Card.
Pittman graduated from Northwestern University Bienen School of Music with an Undergraduate Degree in Voice and Opera and from NYU Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Acting Program with a Master’s Degree in Acting. She continues to be repped by Untitled Entertainment and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
